Excellent Item Review by Derek Tuiloma
Product Rating I got these to improve on the lapel mic I was using, when my speakers turned their heads away from the mic there was a noticable drop in volume. This was generally accepted by the audience but it drove me crazy trying to balance the sound levels.
With the boom mic, it dosent matter where they look or where they turn their heads the sound is constant.
You do have to teach the user how to wear the mic and having multiple users is not advised. Fitting them to the many different ear shapes and sizes will eventually damage the frame.
Ask the user to be careful with the mic, putting it on and taking it off as the wire is thin and can be pulled right of the connection (Never work with children!)
Reinforce the connection ie 3pin mini XLR with tape as it can weaken over time.
Show the user how to remove the mic from their clothing, carefully- otherwise they'll pull it right out of it's connection.
Make sure that the connection to the belt pack is secured- as the connection point can be weak.
Store the mic in it's own case- it will get tangled with other mics and get damaged when you're in a rush to set up!
Ask the user not to bend the boom and let you do it- it will make the mic last longer- caus when they do it they can be too rough and weaken the frame, even snap it.
The ear section will get weak with too much bending or adjusting- Avoid sharp shapes or squeezing or pinching the frame.
Excellent mics very sensitive excellent sound/ voice reproduction.
Handel with care- lightweight comes at a cost. (Posted on 1/04/10)
