good all rounder if plate voltage is kept below 450 and screen below 360 Review by microwattt
Product Rating These are not like 6CA7s of the 60s. They are not GEC or PHILLIPS in quality,in some ways they are more like an off shoot of the 6L6 being the original tube too get the anode grid cathode spaceing correct. Then the army used a more physically ruggard 6L6 namely the 1625(12v heater) and 807(6.3v heater) So after a lot of curve trace testing i conclude these EH6CA7,EH EL34 are closer too an old time 1625 than a 60s Mullard EL34. They are good not great and do not like silly anode voltages some try to use today (above 500v).Also screen "stoppers" of 680 ohms 5watt are a must. Regulate the screen voltage too,is a plus too reduce 2H. By Microwattt (Posted on 22/10/10)
